About me…
Jen Cameron MA, MFTC Relational Therapist
I took the scenic route to get here, quite literally. I left Boston on a road trip in 2008 in search of new beginnings and a hope to start a masters program in counseling. On my tour of CU Denver's counseling program at the age of 23, I knew I was not ready to take it on- yet, and I'm glad I waited.
There were many detours and pit stops on my way to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. I failed at relationships, I succeeded as a young bar manager only to quit and become a yoga teacher, acrobat, and studio manager. I got married and started a family. I struggled through finding myself again as a mother and then I lost my own mother to cancer.
I took the opportunity to study Marriage and Family Therapy at CU Denver when the pandemic slammed the breaks in my then career. The life experiences I had during the time I waited to go back to school, allows me to be the kind of therapist who connects deeply with clients. I certainly do not have it "all figured out", but I do get to witness the unique and beautiful paths of my client's lives while offering genuine empathy and support.
As a therapist, I am dedicated to creating safe and welcoming spaces for healing. My therapeutic style is engaged, direct and supportive. Clients feel seen and heard in my sessions. I connect with my clients through humor, empathy and care.
