FAQs
Do you take insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance for therapy sessions. Insurance coverage requires a diagnosis to cover therapy, and can limit access to the type of care you are looking for.
What happens in a consultation?
A consultation is a time for clients and counselor to meet and see if they are a good fit for therapy together. It is a great time to ask questions and decide if you’d like to move forward with therapy. If the counselor believes they are not the right fit for the clients’ needs, they will provided referrals.
What if I want to do couples counseling but my partner does not?
We can’t force someone into counseling against their will, and it can be difficult for both partners to agree on counseling at times. A free consultation is a safe introduction to couples counseling that may help a hesitant partner decide for themselves. And, individual therapy can focus on relational work if your partner does not want to start couples counseling.
What is your cancellation policy?
Therapy Haven has a 24-hour cancellation policy, and sessions that are cancelled with less than 24 hour notice or are a “no-show” may be charged the full session fee with the exception of emergencies.
